The Circle

The Circle is a universal symbol representing Totality, Wholeness, Original Perfection, The Unmanifest, The Infinite, Eternity and…GOD the creator of all that is.

The energy of God is a ‘circle’ whose centre is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere. Roundness is held sared as the most natural shape and is also timelessness and spacelessness – having no beginning and no end, no above and no below.

The circle represents ‘NOW’ – this moment, the only one you ever have. It symbolises Celestial Unity and Recurrence, Solar cycles, all cyclic motion, dynamism, endless movement, completion and fulfillment.

A Circle with a dot in the centre depicts cyclic perfection or the completion of a cycle and the resolution of all possibilities in existence. It is also a symbol of the Sun Gods, the Alchemist and the supreme power of the TAO.

Concentric circles represent – Solar & Lunar – The sky, The Heavens and the different states or degrees of consciousness in Manifest existence.
3 concentric circles can signify – past – present – future, earth – air – water, the phases of the moon or the dynamics of the reconciliation of opposites.

A Semi-circle depicts the following – Upper half, the upper waters or the rainbow
Lower half, Lower waters or the Ark.

Together they create the whole – The ‘Cosmic Egg’ – the completion of a cycle of manifestation.

In Zen, the empty circle represents – enlightenment. Interlocking Circles represent the Trinity Energy. Two Concentric Circles represent the combination of intellect and will.

Twin Circles represent ‘Christ’ energy.

The circle containing a cross
symbolises Paradise and the four cardinal directions, North – South – East – West and also symbolises good fortune and a forthcoming change in one’s life.

The circle surmounting the cros
s – eg ‘The Ankh’ represents the union of the male and female principles, human and divine, sacred space and a cosmic centre.

The Square

The Square represents the ‘Earth’ as opposed to the circle of the heavens. Earthly existence, static perfection, immutability, integration, God manifest in creation, and the totality of the Godhead. – three sides being it’s threefold aspect and the fourth side representing totality.

The symbol of the square also denotes, honesty, straightforwardness, stability, integrity and morality and the four sacred elements, earth – air – fire – water.

The square represents limitation and therefore form and order within the universe.

In sacred architecture, the square symbolises transcendent knowledge: the archetype controlling all works. In sacred buildings such as Temples or Churches it represents the mystical union of the four elements and the attainment of unity in the return to primordial simplicity.

Squaring the circle or Circling the square represents the transformation of spherical form of ‘spirit’ into the rectangular form of matter or vice versa.

The union of the Square and the Circle is the union of Yin and Yang, Heaven and Earth, and also symbolises the perfectly balanced human.

The square also symbolises ‘The Soul’.

The Triangle

The Triangle represents the threefold nature of The Universe – Heaven – Earth – Man, Father – Mother - Child, the human as Body – Mind – Spirit and the mystical energy of the three – dynamic action.

The Equilateral Triangle symbolises completion, and the trinity in unity.

The Upward pointing Triangle is ‘solar’ and symbolises Life, Fire, Heat the masculine principle, the Spiritual World, and the trinity of Love – Truth – Wisdom. The horizontal line representing Air.

The Downward pointing Triangle is ‘lunar’, the Feminine principle, the Matrix, the Waters, Cool, the Natural World, the Body, the Yoni, the Shakti and the Great Mother. The horizontal base-line represents The Earth.

The Triangle within the circle depicts the plane of ‘form’ and ‘creation’ held within the circle of eternity.

The Double Triangle – The Merkarbar (the 6 pointed Star, Solomons Seal, Star of David) symbolises “as above, so below”, the combination of Heaven & Earth, Spirit & Matter, the union of opposites, Male & Female, Positive & Negative, Fire & Water, Evolution & Involution and the perfect balance of complimentary opposites.

It also symbolises Man looking into his own nature and the twin forces of Creativity.

The synthesis of all elements within the Upright Triangle as the celestial nature and the inverted Triangle as the terrestrial, encompass the whole representing Universal Man uniting the two as Mediator.

Two Triangle’s lying horizontally and touching apex to apex carry lunar energy, eternal return, life and death, dying and resurrecting and - Alchemy.

Triangles are also used to depict the elements, Fire, Water, Air, Earth

The Pentagram – 5 pointed star -

The Pentagram symbolises the figure of man with outstretched arms and legs – the integral personality – the human microcosm.

Endless in it’s construction, the pentacle takes on the same significance, power and perfection energetically of the circle.

The 5 points represent the 5 elements of – Spirit – Fire – Earth – Air – Water.

Like the circle it has the power of transmuting negative forces and elementals and promotes good fortune for the user energetically.

It is and has always been a powerful symbol for Alchemic Magic.

The 5 pointed star when inverted is also symbolic of the ‘Sacred Feminine’ in it’s purest and highest form, and carries an energetic connection to the dog star ‘Sirius’. It can be used to channel higher energies and bring them into physical manifestation on the earth plane.

It is no coincidence that during the past 200 years as the chaos energy strived to further denigrate and suppress the sacred feminine on this planet in order to maintain control of the masses and dominate humanities devolution, that this symbol was suddenly branded as ‘evil’ and ascribed to that of the devil and his worshippers. Nothing could be further from the truth! It is time for humanity to remember the sacredness of this beautiful symbol and it’s energies.

This powerful and sacred symbol has been used throughout the ages for thousands of years in sacred ceremonies held by the Magi, Templars & Priestesses of many cultures to both honour and celebrate the sacredness, beauty and mystery of the feminine principle, for the purpose of ascension, creative manifestation and the ongoing alchemy of the human spirit.
