I had never seen a mandala before nor heard of them until that time. I belong to a meditation centre, and around the same time I saw some of Christine's mandalas on display at our Open-Day. I was really interested to know more and for quite a while I thought about having a unique mandala created personally for myself. I met Christine and instantly felt a knowing that we had met before. I felt warmed to her loving presence and beautiful energy, and being in her studio was so peaceful as I was surrounded by many mandalas, that were simply stunning. Over 4 weeks I waited for my own personal channeled mandala to be created and I had no idea what I would see, or how I would feel on seeing my own mandala. I was so excited to catch up once again with Christine and see the finished work.  However, whilst it was very beautiful, in my mind I had imagined how it would look and which colours it might contain, and as I love Angels and soft, pastel colours I expected these to be in my mandala.   It didn't have these colours... instead it had deep burgundy background. Initially I felt a little disappointed, however I also intuitively knew I needed time to understand and love my mandala and to see the beauty within it- which is of course represents the essence of me. To be perfectly honest, whilst I was unsure how I felt at first, I soon realised that this was about me having anticipated a certain outcome and was not at all reflective of the wonderful work Christine had done. I realised that If I had been going to choose a mandala, I may not have really even looked at this piece, and would have chosen something quite different. ....My friends however thought it both beautiful and most definitely me! I have since realised that I needed time with my mandala at home, to grow with it, which is what I continue to do on a daily basis. It sits in my favorite room where I spend time every day.
